Team Psycho MMA and Jiu-Jitsu

Our Mission Statement:

The Purpose of Team Psycho Martial Arts is to provide an opportunity for personal growth while promoting a common interest and fostering participation amd competition in various martial arts events. Club Members are strongly encouraged to participate in tournaments, practices, MMA and community events. Our goals include the following:

• To establish Team Psycho Martial Arts as a community leader
• To provide a cultural bridge between various groups.
• To instill pride, personal integrity and cooperation in team members
• To foster leadership
• To encourage academic achievement and hard work

We hope that these core values will give Team Psycho Martial Arts members a solid foundation to be positive role models in their communities

How it all started

Team Psycho started started in 2004 as an MMA team in Sierra Vista, Arizona. We had four initial members who started out with nothing more than a dream. We practiced in the park because we had no facility or equipment, just a desire to learn. Our primary focus at the time was MMA. Currently, we have members that fight in Arizona, New Mexico, California and Washington.

K "The Hawaiian Hitman" made the move to Washington, his home state, in 2006 and started teaching Jiu-Jitsu soon after when he found there was a need for affordable instruction in the area.

K is one of the founding members of Team Psycho. He is a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and has an amateur MMA record of 8-2 and a professional MMA record of 2-0. He currently holds 3 titles in  three different fight organizations. Trained through his Brown Belt in Sierra Vista, AZ under Otto Ameperosa in the Machado system. Then received his Black belt under Jason Hunt with Team Shinja Martial Arts. K is the lead instructor for the school as well as our promoter for all MMA events. Arjay "The Warrior" Murphy

Arjay has been training with the team for over a year in Jiu-Jitsu and has been fighting in several MMA events. Arjay is the main instructor for our kids classes and is the main contact for team marketing and community outreach. You can reach Arjay at Arjay_Murphy@teampsychomma.com

Steve Simpson

Steve has been training with the team for over half a year and is an assistant instructor for the youth classes. Steve first started boxing at the age of 8 and has trained in kickboxing before joining Team Psycho.  He also manages the team website and myspace. You can reach Steve at s.simpsonjr@comcast.net

Coach Dain is the most recent addition to the Team Psycho coaching staff. He has experience as a professional boxer, kickboxer, and MMA fighter.
